MsgLenFix2
it’s a very old application, which i’ve not updated over 3 years. but it still work for most of palm devices.
it’s used to unlock the sending message length limitation for treo devices with palm os.
how it works? it will detect each form to check if it’s the sending message form with the form id you filled in. if it it, then change the text field’s max length property.
some simple instructions for it:
1. download and install it
MsgLenFix.prc (7.3 KiB, 396 hits)
2. launch the application, in most of cases,
for treo650:
formid 8500
message field 54
maxchars any number as you want
formid 3001
message field 9
maxchars any number as you want
for treo600:
formid 3100
message field 8
maxchars any number as you want
formid 3001
message field 9
maxchars any number as you want
3. go to your message application and test.
if the default settings doesn’t work for you, you may need some tools to detect the sending message form’s id. i had wrote such a tool, but cannot find it.. -_-!
if you have any other question, please reply in this page.
Did not detect Message ID for treo 680 but I’ve tried with Treo 650 IDs and it works fine. Thanks a lot.

Hi- thanks very much for posting this tool. I can’t get it to work with treo 680. I’ve tried playing with settings for treo 600 and 650, but no success. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks. -ben
